About Spriggly’s Beescaping:

Spriggly’s Beescaping works with homeowners, businesses, and municipalities to create spaces that benefit the ecosystems around them. We focus on strategic habitat restoration utilizing native plants that support pollinators, beneficial wildlife, soil health, and more, while offering clients a dynamic and attractive landscape. The majority of our habitat restoration work takes place between Haywood, Jackson, and Buncombe counties, with occasional work in Macon, Madison, and Henderson Counties. 

Habitat Restoration Assistant General Details

• $20.50 an hour
• This position is seasonal, on-call*, and part-time from now through December 2026
  • Working hours are generally between 7:30AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday. On rare occasions, we may begin as early as 7AM and end as late as 5PM, but a working day will never exceed 8 hours.
  • While weekend hours may occur, they are 100% optional.
• The position is paid monthly and will not exceed 120 hours per month, averaging between 4-32 hours per week.

 

*Although this position is “on-call” and “part-time”, tentative schedules are provided monthly and schedules for the following week are finalized during the previous week. We gather staff availability monthly to try and accommodate everyone’s schedule to the best of our ability.

If you are only available to be on-call certain days of the week or for specific hours each day, please still apply as we may be able to work with your schedule. Hours are not guaranteed weekly. Our schedule remains flexible due to weather, plant availability, and other factors.

 

Description

The position will assist on new large-scale habitat restoration and garden design projects, including invasive plant removal. In addition, this position will assist with weekly maintenance for a small selection of clients receiving watering, weeding, and pruning services. We do not provide lawn maintenance of any kind, other than removal/transition of turf grass to native plants.

 

Please note: We do not use any gas-powered equipment and rarely use electric equipment, opting for hand tools and person-power whenever possible. We are “beyond organic” as we do not use any traditional or even organic pesticides.

• Mileage reimbursement is available for certain jobs at long distances. Specific details regarding mileage reimbursement will be discussed during the interview stage.

• A rain/wind jacket will be provided for use.
• No personal tools or gloves are needed, Spiggly’s will provide these items.
• After two months of work, a $75 reimbursement will be added to your paycheck for any work-related clothing, shoes, or other items you may have purchased or need to purchase.
